Attention to Bachelor Degree Students,


The Asia Summer Program (ASP) is back and this time it's in Surabaya, Indonesia! ASP2019 will be held from 1-19 July 2019 at Petra Christian University, Indonesia. This is the second time, Petra Christian University as a Host University for this program. Previously, it was held in 2012.

It was a successful program that brings benefit to students. In previous years, ASP2018 was held at Busan, Korea, followed by ASP2017: Guangzhou, China, ASP2016: Bangkok, Thailand, ASP2015: Tokyo, Japan, ASP2014: Perlis, Malaysia (UniMAP) and ASP2013: Busan, Korea.

ASP is an international platform for universities and participants of various Asian countries to come together and to learn from each other academically as well as culturally.

Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to experience to study abroad with transferable credit courses as well as experiencing outdoor activities and other programs organized by the host university.

UniMAP offers partial funding in the form of ASP Special Funding (ASF) for successful candidates; only ONE (1) from each school, MPP and MPKK. If you are interested in applying for that funding, please make sure you tick the choice in the internal application form. UniMAP would cover the program fee costs of USD650 that include accommodation, meals, city tour, airport pick-up, and learning materials. The ASF recipients need to bear returns airfare, visa fee, and personal expenses.

ASP2019 Program Details

Important Dates:
11 Jan 2019 - Internal announcement and application open
13 Feb 2019 - Internal application submission due date
27 Feb 2019 - Application screening by schools/faculty/MPP/MPKK
1 March 2019 - Announcement for candidates selected for a centralized interview
13 March 2019 - Centralized interview session
18 March 2019 - Announcement for successful candidates (ASF and self-funding)
1 April 2019 -Early bird registration (from 7 March until 8 April 2019)

The criteria for candidate selection are:
1. Local bachelor degree students:
- 1st - 3rd Year for Engineering Students
- 1st - 2nd year for Non-engineering Students

2. Does not coincide with any student's compulsory program such as industrial training.
3. Minimum CGPA of 2.75
4. Possesses good English Speaking, writing and reading skills.
5. Possesses good interpersonal and soft skills.
6. Willing to train and participate in a cultural performance.
