Exciting updates from the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE 2024) conference in Perth, Australia, running from March 4th to 8th. On the first day, we had the privilege of engaging with esteemed delegates from Japan, Turkey, Indonesia, Belgium, France, and beyond. The discussions were enlightening, focusing on networking, linkages, and the myriad opportunities arising from academic and mobility programs. UniMAP proudly collaborated with our esteemed partners from UTHM, UMPSA, and UTEM to establish a vibrant booth representing MTUN. Representing UniMAP at the event is the CIE Director, Assoc Prof. Ir. Dr. Umi Fazara Md Ali. Come visit us and study in Malaysia, and let’s engage in enriching conversations and explore new avenues for collaboration. Together, we are shaping the future of education and fostering global connections that transcend boundaries.

A meet & greet session was held with the newly elected UniMAP MPPs, represented by their International, Alumni & Postgraduate Exco members: Nasser, Alleef and Mohammed Kuhail. Also present was Dr. Abdullah Baadhem, coordinator of OSCI. Besides getting to know our respective roles and functions, several issues concerning international students’ welfare were also raised and discussed during the session. Additionally, a number of joint-initiatives for international students were also proposed. CIE remains committed in trying our best to provide assistance and support to international students throughout their studies at UniMAP.

Majlis menandatangani Perjanjian Persefahaman (MoU) antara Universiti Malaysia Perlis dengan Islamic Private School Association Satun (IPAS). Majlis dihadiri oleh Naib Canselor UniMAP, Prof. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Zaliman Sauli dan Mr. Madren Layod, Presiden (IPAS) di Pejabat Naib Canselor, Bangunan Canselori Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Kampus Alam UniMAP, Pauh Putra. Islamic Private School Association Satun (IPAS) merupakan persatuan yang ditubuhkan untuk mengawal selia dan menguruskan sekolah-sekolah agama swasta yang terletak di Wilayah Satun, Thailand. Persatuan ini bertugas untuk menganjurkan program bersama di peringkat Wilayah Satun dan juga antarabangsa dalam aspek akademik dan pembangunan insan.

CIE held an introductory meeting with Nanyang Vocational College of Agriculture (NYVCA) today to discuss potential collaboration opportunities and partnership. The meeting was chaired by CIE director, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Umi Fazara Md Ali, and also attending for UniMAP was Fakulti Kejuruteraan dan Teknologi Elektronik Unimap Programme Chairperson of Biomedical Engineering Programme, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azian Azamimi Abdullah.
Meanwhile, NYVCA was represented by Mr. Zhang Tianwei, Deputy President, Ms Jiang Hongying, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office and team. Also present were representatives from MYEDU company.
Several agendas were discussed during the meeting, including mobility programmes between both institutions as well as the offering of UniMAP undergraduate programs to NYVCA’s diploma graduates.
