Day 6 - 20/1/2025: Winter Camp 2025 @ UniMAP
Today was filled with incredible experiences as the delegates embarked on a field visit to the IBC Chuping Valley Industrial Area. We were proud to see how NCER has developed a 25-hectare superfruit farm, one of the largest in Southeast Asia. The delegates had the opportunity to take a ride through the superfruit farm, where we also brought along lots of food to enjoy. Next, the delegates were treated to the famous Harumanis, one of the best varieties of mangoes! We visited the Harumango farms at the foot of Bukit Chuping in Perlis, where we tasted the delicious fruits and refreshing juices—an unforgettable experience!. Afterward, we had a delightful picnic at Taman Eko-Rimba Bukit Ayer, enjoying a delicious meal of Nasi Tomato Ayam Masak Merah, truly satisfying our taste buds. The day concluded with a scenic ride to Kuala Perlis, where we witnessed a breathtaking sunset, taking in the serene beauty of the surroundings. It was a perfect moment of healing and relaxation before heading to rest for the next exciting day of our journey. Many thanks to the Centre for Industrial and Governmental Collaboration (CIGC) for making this visit a successful and memorable experience.

The UniMAP team had a truly insightful visit to Henan Quality Institute (HQI). Warmly welcomed by the staff and students despite the freezing weather, we first commenced with a comprehensive campus tour of the different departments and impressive labs, before delving into discussions centered around potential collaborations, particularly for programs relating to food technology, mechatronics engineering, electronic engineering and civil engineering. Dr. Noor Amirah Abdul Halim from Faculty of Chemical Engineering Technology, programme chairperson of food technology program, joined us online from UniMAP.
The exchange of ideas and insights during these discussions was both engaging and promising, laying the foundation for prospective partnerships that align with our shared academic objectives. The meeting ends with the exchange of LoI between UniMAP, represented by deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International), Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Shukry Abdul Majid and HQI, represented by Prof. Xi Huiping, it’s Vice Chancellor.
After the meeting, Assoc. Prof Dr. Mohd Halim Abdul Wahid and Dr. Loo Shih Min gave academic presentations to the students before the host institution extend their warm hospitality with a gracious dinner feast for us.
We express our sincere gratitude to HQI for their lovely hospitality and we look forward to work together towards our shared commitment of academic excellence.
